THE STORY BEHIND

The Mid Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is one of the most important celebrations in Chinese culture. Observed on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, it marks the time when the moon is believed to be at its fullest and brightest.

For centuries, it has been a celebration of family reunion, gratitude, and togetherness. The full moon symbolises unity and completeness, giving the festival its reputation as the Festival of Reunion.

Among its most cherished traditions is the sharing of mooncakes.

With their round shape reflecting the full moon, mooncakes symbolise reunion and harmony. Traditionally enjoyed with loved ones and exchanged as gifts, they remain an essential part of Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations today.
